Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster At Geneva
The Geneva International Motorshow is always a hotbed of the latest metal and this year was no different. With the event witnessing a number of high profile car launches and reveals, there were several stars of the show and one particular highlight was this, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster.
To the uninitiated Lamborghini’s creations can look mad bordering on the absurd but to those in the know, this is what Lamborghini does well. A break from the mould, Lamborghini has long been about doing something different. The ultimate bedroom wall pin-up, Lambo’s are designed to look edgy and downright crazy.
With designs and angles that appear to be from another world, a Lamborghini is everything that a modern hypercar should be and this latest creation from the marque delivers on this brief to the tee.
Meet the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster. A model designed to satisfy the cravings of those customers that thought the standard ‘Aventador SV’ lacked a little edge, the SVJ is the ultimate expression of the Aventador.
Featuring dramatically enhanced body styling, the SVJ is a sight to behold. Angular and aggressive lines, louvres and cut out’s pepper the exterior whilst carbon fibre elements are used extensively. However whilst all of this drama may initially appear for cosmetic purposes, dig a little deeper and you'll soon discover that this is all present for far more than just cosmetics.
The SVJ utilises numerous aerodynamic aids which allow the Aventador SVJ to deliver significantly more aerodynamic performance to that of its sibling. To be exact, the SVJ generates an extra 40% of downforce on each axle and what’s more incredible is that all of this wizardry is packaged into a roadster body.
With the coupe SVJ being launched at the back end of last year, this highly anticipated roadster variant packages all of the thrills from the coupe and lets you experience them with the roof down.
Like the coupe, the SVJ Roadster features the same 6.5-Litre V12 engine and is capable of some incredible performance statistics, such as standstill to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed in excess of 217 mph.
What makes this thing even more incredible is that it’s coupe counterpart currently holds the record for the fastest production car around the Nurburgring. Now imagine doing that with the roof down…
